Jose Mourinho has already added three new faces to the ranks at Manchester United, but his business is only half done. That’s what The Independent write anyway. They reckon that the Red Devils still want to bring in two new full-backs, as well as one more central midfielder.
In an ideal world, the self-proclaimed Special One will get all these deals done, but unfortunately, we don’t live in an ideal world. The transfer window has now been open for quite some time and the season is just eight days away from kicking off.
There is absolutely no way we’ll see three new faces come through the Manchester United exit doors in that short space of time, but hopefully, we’ll see at least one more acquisition before the window slams shut at the start of September.
The fact that the boss is targeting two full-backs intrigues me. Outside of Antonio Valencia, we don’t have anyone else in that area of the field we can completely rely upon, particularly on the left-hand side. Luke Shaw is an immensely talented young man, but if he cannot get himself fit, that can be a real issue.
Our midfield just got a huge lift with the arrival of Nemanja Matic, but it seems as though Mourinho wants to bring further balance to such a key area of the park. Will we see someone else come in? Who knows.
