Three Manchester United players who could be dropped for Liverpool away

After the international break, Manchester United come back with a bang in a real tough fixture against fiercest of rivals in Liverpool. The game will obviously be a real struggle for Jose Mourinho’s men, but you’d hope we’ll come out on top and snatch all three points.

Ahead of the game, we’ve taken a look at three players who could potentially be dropped for the clash, and although there are some bold decisions involved, they are the kind you expect a strong manager like Jose Mourinho to make without any fuss.

Jesse Lingard – The first man up is Jesse Lingard. The Englishman hasn’t been all that impressive over the last couple of fixtures, and with Henrikh Mkhitaryan returning to the fold, you’d imagine he’ll struggle to keep hold of his place for a tricky away fixture.

Daley Blind – Blind was a hard one, but Luke Shaw is the left-back of choice and Manchester United have to use him going forward. He’s young, talented and hungry for success. It’s a shame because Blind is an outstanding footballer, but I just don’t see how Jose breaks up the Smalling/Bailly combination to fit the Dutchman in.

Marcus Rashford – Perhaps the most controversial decision of the lot. The Englishman has been great on the left wing, but Jose seems to love Anthony Martial and the Frenchman’s goal at the weekend was sensational. He also has previous against Liverpool. Remember that stunning goal on his debut?
