Three Manchester United players who have to be dropped for Fenerbahce away

Manchester United’s performance levels have been pretty good recently, despite the fact that we’ve dropped far too many points both at home and on the road. Results are what matters most, and it’s up to Jose to turn things around – and quickly.

One way Manchester United can improve is drop those players who haven’t been performing anywhere close to their capabilities. We’ve picked out a trio of players who perhaps could do with some time on the bench.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – It comes as no surprise that our 35-year-old forward heads this list. Zlatan Ibrahimovic started off the season on fire as he found the back of the net in pretty much every game. However, his levels have dropped massively and at this point in time you feel he couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo.

We aren’t questioning his talent, just his confidence and tiredness at this point in time, and a game on the sidelines will definitely help him going forward.

Marcos Rojo – This one is a bit of a difficult choice. Rojo has done well in the couple of games so far, but we’ve seen just how culpable he can be at times. Timothy Fosu-Mensah is waiting in the wings and his talent levels are so much higher than that of the Argentinian. Why not give him the chance at centre-back and see what he can do.

Jesse Lingard – Despite being a product of Manchester United’s famous academy. Lingard has struggled this season. When given time to think, he seems to make the wrong choice. The Englishman is more of an instinctive player, and at the weekend it was another below-par performance from him.

The likes of Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are much more creative and attacking, and you’d prefer either one of these to start week-in, week-out.
