Three Manchester United players who have to start the derby against City

Manchester United have made the perfect start to life under Jose Mourinho, with the club making it three wins out of three thanks to a last-gasp winner against Hull City. Now we approach the first international break of the new season, but after that comes the derby.

City have also made a good start under their new gaffer, and the game is sure to be one of several battles between the two sides whilst the pair are sat in opposing dugouts.

We’ve picked out three United players who have had to sit on the bench at the start of this season, but who could well be in for a start in this one.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

The Armenian is a little genius when given time and space on the ball, and the way he glides past his man is just brilliant to watch. We were treated to a thirty-minute cameo of that against Hull City, and you feel he did more than enough to displace Juan Mata in the side.

Marcus Rashford

Bringing in the 18-year-old Mancunian seems a no-brainer. He has previous in the derby against City, and made a stunning impact from off of the substitutes bench last time around. The man who’ll probably lose his place is Anthony Martial, who hasn’t made the brightest start to things under Jose Mourinho.

Ander Herrera

This last one, in particular, was tough, but Ander Herrera’s energy will bring a lot to the derby game, and City’s side isn’t blessed with bags of height so you can probably do without the Belgian in that regard.

Mourinho loves to change it up depending on the opponent for that game, and this is a change we could well see happen.
