Spanish Newspaper, AS, claim that Manchester United will today complete the signing of Athetico Bilbao midfielder, Ander Herrera, in a deal worth €36m.
The club were heavily linked with Herrera last summer, and the deal was said to be close to completion, up until the scandal of the fake lawyers at the Spanish FA headquarters.
A much anticipated winter deal never materialised, but out of the blue, the Spanish newspaper claim the deal has been done, before his release clause is bumped up to €40m on July 1st.
The claims are also backed up by another Spanish Media outlet Cadena Ser.
The United midfield is in desperate need of strengthening, with only Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher, Anderson and Marouanne Fellaini being eligible to fill the central midfield role at the club.
