Juventus, Napoli and Roma are all keen on signing Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian, according to Calciomercato, translated by Football Italia.
The Italian was signed by Louis van Gaal, and the right-back made a brilliant start to life at Old Trafford. However, since then, things have gone rapidly downhill for the former Torino man.
Against FC Basel on Wednesday evening he was just awful, and a poor performance culminated in him suffering from a lapse in concentration which led to the eventual winner for the Swiss side.
Now, three of the Serie A’s biggest clubs have shown an interest in signing the veteran full-back, and if I were Jose Mourinho, I’d be driving him back to Italy as soon as possible.
I’m left wondering as to why there is so much interest in him because he’s been truly awful this season, but if they are willing to pay any sort of transfer fee for him, then get the deal done in January if it’s possible.
Don’t forget that we have Luke Shaw waiting patiently for his opportunity. In my opinion, he simply cannot do any worse than Darmian so why not give him a chance to show his worth? It’d certainly make a lot of sense…
