Two Manchester United players will miss Arsenal clash through injury

Manchester United head South to take on Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round tomorrow, in a competition that is probably Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best chance at winning silverware.

Unfortunately, the draw was unkind to us and this will be an extremely tough match. The lads will be feeling confident, though, after recently heading to North London and beating Tottenham Hotspur on their own turf.

Solskjaer’s task hasn’t been made any easier with injuries, either. He told the BBC’s Simon Stone that both Marouane Fellaini and Marcos Rojo will miss the game through injury, while Chris Smalling has returned to training, but his availability is still up in the air.

At this point, what’s does Rojo even offer? Since that horrific ligament injury he suffered a few years ago, the Argentine just hasn’t been able to keep himself off the treatment table.

I know it’s through no fault of his own, but why are we persisting with keeping him around? Rojo’s taking up a squad space that would be better off given to Timothy Fosu-Mensah or someone of that ilk.

As for Fellaini, you’ve now got to think that his days at United are numbered. Jose Mourinho loved him, but Soslkjaer is obviously trying to take this team in a different direction. Clearly, it’d be nicer if the Belgium international was fit, but I’m not sure he would have played in this game anyway…
