As United’s hunt for a midfielder rolls on, and a third bid for Cesc Fabregas in the pipeline, the club have missed out on supposed backup target Luka Modric. New Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the Croat will stay in La Liga for the upcoming season.
It was widely expected that Modric was the next midfielder we’d approach if we were unable to land Cesc Fabregas this summer, but Real have ended our hopes on that one before it really got going.
Another reported target is Everton’s Marouane Fellaini, but a £22million buyout clause in the Belgian’s contract expires on August 13th, so Moyes would have to act fast.
The midfield saga rolls on and it’ll be extremely interesting to see who Moyes goes for next.
