United to tempt Toni Kroos with £260,000 a week contract

Manchester United are prepared to offer Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos a huge £260,000 a week contract to make the move to Old Trafford this summer, claim The Guardian. David Moyes admits that this transfer will be difficult, but adds that he feels he can tempt Kroos to leave Bavaria in favour of Manchester.

Bayern Munich have always maintained the view that Toni Kroos is not for sale, and they’d happily risk letting his contract run down and risk losing him on a free in 2015. At the end of the day though, football is business and if United can offer enough to tempt both the player and club, this move could certainly happen.

Wayne Rooney is the current highest earner at United, fetching home a nice £300,000 a week. If Toni Kroos were to accept these terms he’d join Rooney and Van Persie amongst the highest earners at United.

With Ilkay Gundogan signing a new Borrusia Dortmund contract yesterday, United must now go all out for Toni Kroos and try to get a deal done before the World Cup if at all possible.

If you believe reports, Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon have already agreed a £35m fee for the transfer of William Carvalho in the summer, but we need more than one midfielder.
