According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United are willing to meet Ander Herrera’s €36m buyout clause. The 24-year old midfielder is rated as one of Europe’s up and coming stars, and he’ll certainly have a positive effect on our midfield. A deal for Fellaini is reportedly close to being completed too.
Ander Herrera completed 1496 passes for the Basque side last season, which was more than Lionel Messi (1463), and considerably more than Mesut Ozil (984). The player is a box-to-box midfielder in a similar mould to Luka Modric.
Varying reports also suggest that Herrera is willing to take a €2m a year pay cut to join the English champions, which shows just how much he wants the move.
Guillem Balague broke the news, saying that the deal is ‘practically done’, and that a medical will go ahead later today.
