United’s 28-year-old transfer target is already planning life in Manchester: report

Manchester United finally got the ball rolling this week, as the club completed a move to bring in Victor Lindelof from SL Benfica. It looks as though Edward Woodward is keen to push on with incoming transfers, and they’ve been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Ivan Perisic.

In an exclusive, the Manchester Evening News say that, the 28-year-old winger is already planning for life as a Red Devil and he expects that a move to Old Trafford will be completed.

The report from the Men adds that no fee has yet been agreed with the Serie A side, but the Croat’s camp feel that will not be an issue going forward – and a move will be agreed.

Furthermore, they say that Perisic ‘appreciates’ and ‘enjoys’ the work that Jose Mourinho does and the player is keen on playing Champions League football once again, after a four-year absence.

I think it’s pretty fair to say that as for our left-wing spot in the team last season, nobody really took control. Anthony Martial had a few chances, as did Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. All of which did a decent job, but hardly set the world alight.

If the move goes through, that is the spot in the team that Perisic will be targeting, and I’m of the opinion that he suits our style of play down to a tee; hence he should have no issue in making that role his own.
