Van Gaal: “Robin van Persie at the end of the road”

Manchester United slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to West Brom this weekend, making it three losses in a row. The result could’ve been very different however, after a missed penalty from Robin van Persie midway through the second half.

When asked whether Robin van Persie will take a penalty for United again, Van Gaal replied: “No. He is now at the end of the road.”

He also suggested that Wayne Rooney will not take penalties for the club either, which means that we’ll probably have a new penalty taker come next season.

Its interesting really, but honestly I don’t know who else would take them. Out of the current starting XI I’d suggest Juan Mata is probably the best bet, or even Ander Herrera who has a good strike on him. Aside from that though, we’re struggling.

Who should be United’s penalty taker? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
