Van Gaal set for huge pay bonus if United finish in top four

Manchester United have faced a tough battle all season long to get a spot in the top four for next season. That battle is still in full swing, and Louis van Gaal’s men currently sit five points clear of their closest rivals Liverpool, with just eight games remaining.

According to the Star on Sunday, Van Gaal has a huge money incentive to help United finish in the top four, and he’ll take home another £1million if he can bring Champions League football back to Old Trafford.

The Iron Tulip seems to have got everything clicked together in the past few weeks, highlighted by superb victories over Tottenham and Liverpool.

If Van Gaal does help us to a top four finish he more than deserves any kind of bonus coming his way. The squad hasn’t been performing as we’d have liked for large portions of the season, and lets not forget how much of a struggle it was early on due to injuries galore.
