Inter Milan are weighing up the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Ashley Young on a free transfer over the summer. That’s according to the Daily Mail.
The veteran winger-cum-full-back has been in good form for the Red Devils this season, but the fact that he is out of contract in six months time means that he can talk to overseas clubs about the possibility of signing a pre-contract.
Apparently, United are talking with Young in the hope that he will agree to a new deal, and without doubt, his biggest selling point is versatility. Young’s ability to play practically anywhere on the field at an above average level is a great asset to have. He also brings some much-needed experience to the table.
It comes as no surprise to see a top class outfit like Inter looking at signing Young, and I wouldn’t be too shocked to see other names throw their hat into the ring in the not too distant future.
The longer it goes on without the 33-year-old signing a new contract at Old Trafford, the more teams will be sniffing around. Hopefully, United and Young can come to an agreement soon and stop the crows circling.
