Manchester United Football Club has always been a hotbed for young, budding talent.
That mantra is something that’ll never die – despite how poor the on-field performances may get… Credit to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who has been more than willing to give these kids their opportunity.
The latest to benefit from first-team minutes is Brandon Williams. After an exciting cameo against Rochdale, the young Englishman would then start against AZ Alkmaar. In that game he’d put in a Man of the Match performance.
Since then, Williams has been called up to the England U20s squad and my is he taking that opportunity well. See the video below as the young man went on a Gareth Bale-eqsue run – marauding forward from that left-back slot…
When you factor in Luke Shaw’s constant injury problems and Ashley Young’s age, there’s no reason why Williams can’t make that slot his own over the next six months or so.
Williams may be raw, but the 19-year-old has shown the effort and the talent are both there. Given regular outings with the first team he’ll only get better – and is there anything more pleasing for a fan than watching homegrown talent succeed?
Anyway, it seems I’m not the only one he’s impressing, with Williams continuing to be praised by the fans on social media:
