Manchester United fans were feeling somewhat underwhelmed when Odion Ighalo was who the club decided to call upon in the wake of Marcus Rashford’s injury.
However, since making the move to Old Trafford, it’s fair to say the Nigerian has made a brilliant impression – largely due to his commitment to the cause and the hard graft he is putting in.
Although Ighalo wasn’t able to join up with his new teammates in Marbella during a warm-weather training camp, the 30-year-old is definitely putting in the work back here in a cold Manchester…
As you can see from the video Ighalo posted on his Twitter below, Ighalo is training extremely hard, dripping from head-to-toe in sweat ahead of a likely United debut against Chelsea on Monday Night Football.
For me, there’s nothing more brilliant than watching someone play for their boyhood club. Ighalo is a United fan like every single one of us and I don’t doubt he’ll leave absolutely everything out on that field whenever he’s out there.
Ighalo will offer a different dimension to this United setup. Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford like to drift, while the new #25 at Old Trafford will stay central, hold up the play and allow others to run off him.
I seriously think he’ll surprise us all during his time here and who knows, maybe he can earn himself a longer deal at the Theatre of Dreams…
