Manchester United are seemingly on the verge of announcing the departure of Louis van Gaal, with Jose Mourinho thought to be the man coming in. Many of United’s top stars were thought to be unhappy with the management style of the Iron Tulip.
Two in particular, were thought to be considering their positions this summer – David de Gea and Michael Carrick.
However The Guardian newspaper say that the pair could well now choose to stay at Old Trafford if Jose Mourinho arrives.
David de Gea simply has to stay, whatever the cost to Manchester United. The Spaniard is probably the only world class player we have in the team at the moment, and Jose Mourinho will no doubt do whatever he can to keep him.
Regarding Michael Carrick, its a tough decision for the incoming Mourinho to make. He’s experienced now at 34 and completely lacking in any real on-field mobility. However he’s a winner, and United don’t have many of those at the moment.
