Wayne Rooney expected to be fit for Everton game

After winning his battle with injury to take on Bayern Munich just over a week ago, and looking rather unfit throughout the game, it was expected that Wayne Rooney would miss the next few games with a chipped bone in his foot. However in an exclusive this afternoon, The Daily Mail claim that Wayne Rooney is fit to take on his boyhood club Everton on Sunday.

It is understood that Rooney returned to full training today, and is in contention to start against the Toffees who are currently on an excellent run of form. With the World Cup on the horizon, David Moyes hasn’t yet decided whether the striker will start due to the risk of further aggravating the injury.

Since leaving Goodison Park, Rooney has always been given a hostile welcome upon his return – Something that David Moyes should now probably expect after an insulting offer for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines in the summer.
