Wayne Rooney offers an injury update ahead of Everton clash

Manchester United take on Everton this weekend, with Wayne Rooney looking likely to miss the game against his boyhood club. The 29-year old was a pundit during England’s 2-1 loss to Holland last night, and given us an update on when he is expected to return to action.

“I’m back outside running now so I’m hoping to be in full training in the next week or 10 days.” Rooney said.

So it looks as though our captain will certainly miss the Everton game, and he’s likely to miss the FA Cup replay away at West Ham too.

However on a more positive note it looks likely that he’ll be able to get a few games under his belt before the end of the season, meaning he’ll have his chance to shut the doubters up ahead of the European Championships this summer.
