With the January transfer window now just a month or so away, the stories are starting to ramp up. We’re hearing regular reports in regards to Nemanja Matic’s future. The latest story we covered came from The Telegraph just earlier today.

Anyway this morning, football website 90min.com offered some further insight. They back up the claim that Matic could leave Old Trafford as early as January, with an extra added snippet.

Apparently, English side West Ham are eyeing a move for the £120,000-a-week United star (wages via capology), who’s contract is rapidly winding down – he’ll be a free agent next summer…

Furthermore, Matic doesn’t necessarily want to depart from the Theatre of Dreams, though his lack of minutes could force the player’s hand, with a move to the London Stadium amongst the possible options for the Serb.

Matic hasn’t been playing since October and his unavailability still remains a mystery. There’s no doubt that on his day, the 31-year-old is amongst the best defensive-midfielders in the country. The problem is that he’s no longer the player he was and his legs certainly have gone.

Perhaps a move away is in the best interests of everyone – though United aren’t going to let Matic leave without replacement…
