Manchester United pulled off the impossible. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men managed to overturn a 2-0 deficit to high-flying Paris Saint-Germain in what was one of our best nights over the last decade.
The Red Devils’ comeback was inspired by Romelu Lukaku. He scored two well-taken goals to get United on their way as his brilliant form continues.
Something that took place after the match overshadowed what he actually did on the field, though. Lukaku went straight over to Presnel Kimpembe – who gave away the penalty that eventually cost PSG the tie.
Now, we know what Lukaku told the French centre-back…
This is just pure class. Lukaku knows what it means to be on the wrong side of losing close matches and to see him show that maturity and humanity is wonderful.
Lukaku has had a poor spell of his own recently, but he has truly stood up to be counted and hit back by showing the best form of his career. Six goals in three crucial games has sent his confidence levels through the roof and long may that continue.
We’ll need him to be at his absolute best this weekend when United visit North London to take on Arsenal. If we scoop three points here then our top four aspirations will be looking a whole lot better.
