Manchester United’s U21 side have certainly been much more entertaining to watch than the first-team at the moment, especially after their 7-0 thumping of Norwich City on Monday. The hero of that night was Will Keane, who scored five goals on the night – one of which was a stunning chip.
Afterwards he has revealed his inspiration behind the goal, and he admitted it comes from Wayne Rooney.
“The chip goal (last night) was very pleasing. They all count the same so I’ll take a tap-in and I’ll take a great chip.” Keane began. “I’ve seen Wazza in training and he does quite a lot of chips and is always looking for it so, yeah, why not give it a go?”
The young striker has scored ten goals and laid on three assists in his seven games since returning to Old Trafford, and he certainly deserves a chance in the first-team based on recent form.
Louis van Gaal hasn’t been afraid to give the younger players their opportunities, and it’d be brilliant to see Keane’s form rewarded with some senior minutes in the not too distant future.
