Gareth Bale is plotting a sensational return to the Premier League, according to Don Balon via the Daily Star. They write that the Welsh winger faces an uncertain future with Real Madrid following a disappointing campaign last term, and apparently, Florentino Perez is open to selling the former Tottenham Hotspur man.
Any deal won’t happen until next summer, and Jose Mourinho & Manchester United are both long-term admirers of Bale’s, meaning a deal could well happen if the star wants to move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
It feels like every summer, Bale is linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams and that was no different this time around. There is no doubt that the 28-year-old would improve any team in world football, but the fact that he is under contract until 2022 means any deal would be extremely expensive – considering the current market.
I must admit, I find Spanish football fans absolutely crazy. They jeer at the first possible opportunity for some daft reasons, and I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if Bale wanted to get away from that. It isn’t something he’s used to in the English culture – so why should he put up with that when he can get treated like a king back home.
