Manchester United have made three key signings thus far, with Jose Mourinho adding real quality to the squad as the Red Devils prepare to make an assault both domestically and in Europe. However, that fourth summer recruit has remained elusive thus far.
Now, reports from the Daily Mail, as per the Daily Express, is claiming that the self-proclaimed Special One is eyeing a winger as their next transfer. Apparently, Arjen Robben would be tempted to make the move to Old Trafford if Mourinho made an offer for the Dutchman this summer.
I guess it’s no secret that the 33-year-old is approaching the latter stages of his career, but you cannot take away that he is still one of the best in the business. Over the last few years, he has been simply sensational for Bayern Munich.
On top of that, we know that the United boss isn’t scared of making a move for a more senior player – just look at the wonders he worked with Zlatan Ibrahimovic last term before he got injured.
It’s tough to bring in a proven world-class player in the modern day market, particularly when you factor in the monstrous transfer fees that are taking over the game. Bringing in Robben is a move I would definitely be okay with, particularly if it was a short-term deal.
