Getting nervous yet, Jose?
If I were him, I certainly would be. Manchester United have played some utter dross football to start this campaign. I’d go as far as suggesting it’s the worst we’ve been in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
The hot favourite to replace the self-proclaimed Special One is Zinedine Zidane. However, the Frenchman is remaining classy about the situation… Apparently, the ex-Real Madrid man has called up Mourinho to ensure him that no serious talks have taken place. That’s what Neil Custis writes in an exclusive for The Sun,
All that happened was Zizou’s representatives asked if he would be interested in the United job, but that has left Mourinho convinced that his head is on the chopping block.
Rather than worrying about a potential replacement, Mourinho should be concentrating on the action that takes place on the field. He’ll know that the results and performances haven’t been good enough. That has to change, and quickly, or he will be unemployed in the not too distant future.
It’s a tough situation, but if United lose their next two games then I believe the club have no option but to let him go during the international break. With that said, I’m still not convinced that Zizou is the man for the job. Heck, everyone would struggle at this club at the moment…
