Zlatan Ibrahimovic is targeting a sensational return to football, when Manchester United take on Arsenal on December 2nd. That’s what the Daily Mirror are claiming anyway…
The Red Devils have had to cope without their star striker since April, when Ibrahimovic suffered a season-ending knee injury. Since then, the veteran has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract at the Theatre of Dreams.
Returning at the start of December would mean that the influential Swede would have been out of action for six months, which is an insanely quick return time for an injury of that nature.
It’s great to see just how desperate he is to get back and playing, but I sincerely hope that Ibrahimovic doesn’t rush himself – and let’s his knee fully heal before returning to action. If he damages it again, it could well be a career-ending issue for him and of course, nobody wants that.
In the meantime, we’ve had the pleasure of watching Romelu Lukaku bang in goals for fun at the start of 2017/18, and a partnership containing both Lukaku and Ibrahimovic is certainly an intriguing prospect.
