15-year-old Amir Ibragimov trains with Man United first-team for first time

Amir Ibragimov has trained with the Man United first-team on Friday.

Manchester United have never shied away from giving young players their opportunities. Sir Matt Busby, Sir Alex Ferguson and Erik ten Hag, along with many other bosses, have all done just that. It’s part of the Red Devils’ DNA.

Ten Hag has given plenty of young players their chances to train with the senior side this season, though yesterday’s addition to the squad certainly raised a few eyebrows. A fifteen-year-old, who goes by the name of Amir Ibragimov, trained with the first-team for the first time.

It’s the Manchester Evening News with the scoop, who claim that Ibragimov took part in Friday’s session, ahead of the Aston Villa game on Sunday.

The young midfielder, who only turned 15 last month, is considered one of the best prospects in the country right now.

Hailing from Russia, Ibragimov was originally at Sheffield United before Manchester United came calling.

The Old Trafford side had already fielded numerous enquiries about the midfielder, though the Reds persuaded him to sign a new deal back in August, meaning his short-term future is secured.

The fact that he’s already had genuine minutes with some of the best professional footballers in the world tells you everything you need to know about how highly United rate this young man.

Obviously, it’ll be at least a couple of years before he’s ready to partake in first-team football at the professional level, but this must be a huge confidence and morale-booster for the young man.

It’s tough to tell whether players will fulfil their talents at these tender ages, but United have high hopes for Ibragimov. Their confidence in this young man is arguably unmatched within United’s rich history. I don’t remember the last time a player aged 15 was given this treatment.

Remember the name, Amir Ibragimov.
