Manchester United secured a massive victory this weekend, with a slender 1-0 win giving Louis van Gaal’s men three vital points. The game turned on its head in the second half as United chased the goal, and a key man in that was Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
The young man came on as a half time substitute in place of Marcos Rojo who was struggling, and from that point on United looked much more threatening.
His ability on the ball was brilliant for a man with barely any first-team minutes under his belt, and his confidence was excellent to see. Eventually that was rewarded with an assist for Fosu-Mensah, as he played in Anthony Martial with an excellent through ball.
On the whole he had a fantastic game by numbers too. In just 45 minutes he completed 20 passes, added that aforementioned assist as well as making three important interceptions. He also recorded a couple of clearances and a block.
