2016/17 Player Ratings: Feyenoord 1-0 Manchester United

David de Gea – Literally had to do nothing but pick the ball out of his net. Tough evening. 5/10

Matteo Darmian – Not great. Didn’t really offer anything as an attacking outlet. 4/10

Chris Smalling – Did alright considering he hasn’t had a pre-season. 5/10

Eric Bailly – Quiet, but arguably could’ve done better for the Feyenoord goal. 5/10

Marcos Rojo – Just awful. I’ve never seen a professional footballer with positioning as poor as the Argentinian. 2/10

Morgan Schneiderlin – Made some good tackles in the holding midfielder role, but arguably could’ve done better for the goal. 5/10

Paul Pogba – Didn’t cover himself in glory at all. Lost possession far too easily. This is a game you expect him to be dominating. 3/10

Ander Herrera – United’s best player on the day. Looked up for it. Has to start at the weekend. 6/10

Anthony Martial – His confidence looks completely shot, and he looks a shadow of the player he was last season. 4/10

Juan Mata – You expect your senior players to step up and lead, and Mata just didn’t look up for a fight this evening. 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Looked lively. Used his pace on occasion, but didn’t get much help from the players in behind him. 6/10

Subs:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Came on and threw his weight around a bit.

Memphis Depay – Didn’t do anything. Crossing was poor.

Ashley Young – Similar to Depay. Just didn’t get in the game.
