2016/17 Player Ratings: Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

David de Gea – Made a couple of truly world class saves that allowed United to take a point home. He is an absolutely outstanding goalkeeper. 8/10

Antonio Valencia – The Ecuadorian made a top tackle as the game wore on, and his defending throughout was great. 7/10

Chris Smalling – Captain on the night and marshalled the back four brilliantly. Won his individual battles and didn’t give Liverpool a sniff. 7/10

Eric Bailly – Solid as per usual. What a signing Bailly is turning out to be for us. 6/10

Daley Blind – Brought a calmness and confidence to the side. Perhaps could’ve offered more in an attacking form. 6/10

Marouane Fellaini – Once again, came into the side for a big game and did well. Won his tackles and kept it simple. You cannot fault him. 7/10

Ander Herrera – Outstanding. Bossed the middle of the park, didn’t give Liverpool a sniff and his energy throughout was just top drawer. Remarkable display from the Spaniard. Man of the Match. 8/10

Paul Pogba – Poor. Just wasn’t allowed the time and space to get going in an attacking sense. 3/10

Ashley Young – His first start of the season and he was tireless throughout. Was brought in to do a defensive job and he did it to perfection. Credit to him. 7/10

Marcus Rashford – Lively as per usual. However, he could’ve done more in an attacking sense. 4/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Had a golden chance to perhaps win it for United. Sent his header wide. Held the ball up well during the first half but faded in the second. 4/10

Subs:

Wayne Rooney – Came on, but let his marker go far too often.

Luke Shaw – Nice to see him back on the field.
