4-2-3-1: Man United’s talented predicted XI vs Bristol City – Pogba returns

The games are coming thick and fast for Manchester United. Jose Mourinho’s men are fighting it out on four fronts, with attentions switching to Carabao Cup action this coming Wednesday.

High-flying Championship side Bristol City will provide a stern challenge, particularly at their home ground. That leaves Mourinho with several selection dilemmas, because this is a fixture that he’ll desperately want to win.

With that in mind, check out our predicted starting XI here.

Manchester United predicted XI:

In goal, Sergio Romero more than deserves a chance to start in between the sticks. Daley Blind will fill in at centre-half, alongside Victor Lindelof who continues to improve with each passing fixture. Luke Shaw has looked sharp during his last two outings and will play, with Axel Tuanzebe coming in at right-back for the injured Antonio Valencia.

Paul Pogba’s ban is over and he’ll play purely due to the fact that he’s fresh. Scott McTominay has earned Mourinho’s trust and he will come into the XI, giving Nemanja Matic a rest.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been in the doghouse, but I think this is the game where he returns. Juan Mata will play, with Marcus Rashford starting on the left-hand side. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will make his first start in the 2017/18 season.
