4-2-3-1: Manchester United likely XI vs West Ham – Mkhitaryan starts

Manchester United Football Club looked absolutely superb against Feyenoord in the middle of the week, as they demolished the Dutch side 4-0. Jose Mourinho must’ve been pleased, and team selection going back into the weekend would’ve gotten a lot tougher.

We’ve decided to try and decipher the great mind of Jose Mourinho which is no mean feat, so let’s get on with it.

In goal David de Gea will obviously return to the fold despite a good performance from Sergio Romero. We’ll also welcome back both Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo to the fold. Phil Jones and Antonio Valencia make up the back four.

The midfield is an interesting one, and I don’t see Jose deploying Michael Carrick for the third game in eight days. Paul Pogba will likely start alongside Ander Herrera in a two, with Juan Mata slightly ahead of them.

Then we have a solid front three consisting of Wayne Rooney, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who looked nothing short of scintillating last time out. They all deserve their stars, and it will be tough for Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to break into the side.
