4-2-3-1: Manchester United predicted XI vs Wigan Athletic – Shaw starts

Manchester United are still in four competitions at the moment, and that has presented Jose Mourinho with plenty of problems with chopping and changing his team. Next up, Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford in the cup – and I fully expect to see big changes made here once again.

We’ve drawn up what we think will be our line-up going into the match against Warren Joyce’s team, and it still looks extremely strong. Sergio Romero will start in goal, giving David de Gea a much-needed rest.

The manager can welcome Eric Bailly back into the line-up, providing he thinks the Ivorian is ready to play. Daley Blind will also come back into the heart of defence, allowing Phil Jones some time out. Antonio Valencia sat out the Hull match so he’ll come back in, and we could well be about to see Luke Shaw make his first appearance from the start of a game in nearly two months.

Michael Carrick looked very tired in midweek, so Marouane Fellaini will come back into the action alongside Ander Herrera. Wayne Rooney will start as the #10, sitting just in front of the two.

Juan Mata should get the nod, as should Henrikh Mkhitaryan. I also wouldn’t be wholly against Zlatan Ibrahimovic getting a rest – allowing Anthony Martial to play as the striker.
