Manchester United only played out a draw against Liverpool last night, but now their attentions must rapidly switch to thinking about the Europa League. Mourinho’s men play host to Turkish side Fenerbahce, in a game United have to win after losing their opener against Feyenoord.
When you think about the fact that United only played on Monday evening, and they take on Chelsea on Super Sunday, I’d certainly expect to see Mourinho ring the changes for this one.
In goal, we’ll likely see Sergio Romero get the nod, with the usual back two of Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly in front of him. We could see Matteo Darmian start at the right-back slot, with Luke Shaw making his way back into the starting eleven.
The midfield two will completely change. They’ll be time for a rest for Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba, with Morgan Schneiderlin and Michael Carrick getting starts.
Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney will all come back into the team, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ashley Young dropping back to the bench. If Anthony Martial doesn’t overcome his slight knee concern, Marcus Rashford will start on the left.
