Manchester United’s biggest game of the season takes place this Sunday, with Louis van Gaal hosting Manuel Pellegrini and his in-form Manchester City side. After travelling back from Russia late last night, hopefully jet lag and tiredness doesn’t become an issue for this one.
With that in mind, we could see a few changes made to the starting line-up. Juan Mata, michael Carrick and Daley Blind could all come back into the XI after being rested for the midweek Champions League side. With Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard and Morgan Schneiderlin dropping out.
Unfortunately I just cannot see a pairing of Schweinsteiger and Carrick being mobile enough to deal with the combativeness of Manchester City’s Yaya Toure and Fernandinho. I would love to see Morgan Schneiderlin in there in the place of one of the more experienced midfielders, but I just cannot see it happening.
