Manchester United’s attentions turn back to cup action this coming Friday night, as Louis van Gaal takes his side to Championship high-flyers, Derby County. This will no doubt be another tough game for the Red Devils, and Derby are an opponent not to be taken lightly.
I expect Louis van Gaal to go fairly full strength for this one, especially in the attacking areas of the field. Wayne Rooney will once again lead the line, with Memphis Depay and Andreas Pereira stepping into the side to freshen up the attack. Anthony Martial will continue out wide right.
Morgan Schneiderlin and Marouane Fellaini will hold the midfield, largely due to injuries to both Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger in that area.
The defence is where things look troubling for United. There are a whole host of injuries in that area of the field, and we’ll probably see both Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Guillermo Varela start at full-back. The regular back three will continue.
