4-2-3-1: Manchester United XI vs Derby – Pereira and McNair handed rare start

The only realistic chance Manchester United have at silverware this season now lies with the FA Cup, and Louis van Gaal continues his quest in that competition this Friday night. However it won’t be easy against high-flying Derby County.

The Championship side will certainly provide tough opposition, and I expect that to be reflected with the team on display, with not many changes being made.

I can see Andreas Pereira given a chance to show what he can do, especially after his recent comments hinting at a potential move away from Old Trafford. There should also be a start for Memphis Depay, who hasn’t been given many minutes since the turn of the year.

Bastian Schweinsteiger should return from injury, and his experience is vital, given an extremely young looking back four. Paddy McNair should get a rare outing, as will Guillermo Varela. David de Gea will likely continue in goal.
