Manchester United’s attentions turn to the Europa League this coming Thursday, as Louis van Gaal takes his side to Denmark, for the first leg of their last 32 clash against FC Midtjylland. There is extra significance this year, with the eventual winner earning a spot in the Champions League.
With that in mind, I expect Manchester United to put out a fairly strong line-up, despite our main interests being the Premier League. The back four will include Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Guillermo Varela who have both been playing well recently. They’ll have the experience of Daley Blind and Chris Smalling alongside them.
Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini will anchor the midfield, with Ander Herrera coming in for Juan Mata in the #10 spot. Andreas Pereira will get a rare start on the right hand side, as will Memphis Depay on the left. Wayne Rooney will lead the line as per usual.
