4-2-3-1: Manchester United XI vs Middlesbrough – Pair of youngsters start

Manchester United continue their Capital One Cup campaign with a tricky task at home to Middlesbrough on Wednesday evening. Louis van Gaal will be hoping for a nice cup run this term, after failing miserably in the domestic cups last season.

With that in mind, I’d expect to see a few regular faces involved, but mostly youngsters who deserve their chance.

David de Gea will keep his place, as will Marcos Rojo who put in a Man of the Match performance last time around.

They’ll be re-calls for the likes of Daley Blind and Paddy McNair at centre-back, with Matteo Darmian getting the nod at right-back. Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick will fill the two holding midfielder spots, with a young but talented front four ahead of them.

Memphis Depay, Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard will all provide excellent service for James Wilson, who starts up top.
