4-2-3-1: Manchester United XI vs Spurs – Martial as striker, Rashford benched

Manchester United’s quest for a spot in the top four this season certainly won’t get any easier, with Tottenham Hotspur being the next opponents. Louis van Gaal’s men head to White Hart Lane this weekend, with nothing short of three points a necessity.

The starting XI shouldn’t have too many changes from the side that beat Everton on Sunday, but there may be one or two just to freshen things up and keep the opponents guessing.

David de Gea will start in goal with the customary back two of Chris Smalling and Daley Blind in front of him. Timothy Fosu-Mensah’s performance in the second half last time out deserves a start. Matteo Darmian will continue as the right-back.

Morgan Schneiderlin and the fit-again Ander Herrera will make up the midfield, allowing the dynamic foursome ahead of them to do their damage. Memphis Depay will come in at left-back, with Anthony Martial moving up top allowing Marcus Rashford a much-needed rest.
