Manchester United simply have to get back to winning ways this weekend, if the club plan on making it into the top four come May. Louis van Gaal takes his side to the Stadium of Light to take on a Sunderland team rejuvenated under the guidance of big Sam Allardyce.
With that in mind, and the Europa League on the horizon, Manchester United simply have to go as strong as possible here.
David de Gea will start in goal, with Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian making up a strong looking back four.
We could well see Bastian Schweinsteiger return from injury, and he’ll play alongside Michael Carrick who has looked excellent over the last couple of games.
The front four is where the danger is. Wayne Rooney will lead the line, and he’ll have a trio of Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard in behind him.
