4-2-3-1: Potential Man Utd XI under Jose Mourinho – including new midfield maestro

Manchester United football returns this weekend, with Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge coming against Wigan Athletic. Ahead of the big kick-off, we’ve decided to take a look at a potential XI that could be likely when the Premier League kicks off in August.

In goal we have David de Gea, who is a certainty to be wearing the red of Manchester United after transfer deadline day. In front of him, he’ll have Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly in front of him. To their left it’ll be Luke Shaw, and on the right, the likely candidate is Antonio Valencia.

In the middle of the park we could witness another new signing. Blaise Matuidi of PSG has been linked with a move, and what a signing that would be (if we cannot land Pogba). Next to him is Morgan Schneiderlin.

Onto the most exciting part of the field, we have Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the right, Wayne Rooney in the middle and Anthony Martial on the left. Up top will be none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
