Manchester United simply have to put the Luke Shaw injury and loss to PSV behind them, and quickly. Louis van Gaal has to get his side playing football again, and there were certainly some promising glimpses from the game midweek.
A tricky trip to Shaw’s former club Southampton takes place this Sunday, with Louis van Gaal having plenty of selection dilemmas on his hands.
Anthony Martial played quite well so hopefully he’ll keep his place up top, with Memphis Depay and Ashley Young on either wing, and the returning Wayne Rooney played in a more familiar #10 role.
The midfield duo of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger looks to be the most solid combination we have on the books, but the defence is where it gets interesting.
Louis van Gaal opted to switch Daley Blind to left-back after the Luke Shaw injury, but personally I’d like to see Rojo out there as he has more pace, and Blind with Smalling has been a solid central pairing to this point.
