4-3-2-1: Manchester United XI vs Ipswich – Pereira & Wilson start

Manchester United take a break from league action this midweek, as attentions turn to the Capital One Cup for the first time this season. Louis van Gaal’s men take on Ipswich, and he will not want a repeat of his debut in this competition, when United lost 4-0 away at MK Dons.

With that in mind, I’d imagine Van Gaal will play a stronger team this time around, whilst also blending in a few youngsters.

Andreas Pereira and James Wilson could get their first starts of the season, but neither will displace Anthony Martial in the leading striker role after some stunning performances.

Ashley Young and Bastian Schweinsteiger will both be recalled to the side after starting on the bench at the weekend. They’ll also be first starts of the season for both Paddy McNair and Phil Jones, with Sergio Romero returning to the starting XI.
