4-3-3: Dalot & Martial back in predicted Man United XI vs Liverpool

Manchester United will head down the M62 on Sunday afternoon to take on Liverpool at Anfield in a huge Premier League encounter.

Jurgen Klopp’s men currently top the table, but Jose Mourinho will be hoping to spoil their party by getting a positive result in a match that could well define United’s season.

It looks as though our title tilt is already over, but these are the kind of matches that United simply have to get something out of if they harbour any hopes of securing a top-four finish.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the predicted United XI for the game…

In goal, David de Gea will return after his rest in midweek. Hopefully, Diogo Dalot is fit and ready to play, as there are question marks about his availability as he wasn’t in the Champions League matchday squad on Wedesday. Opposite him, it looks as though Ashley Young will start, with Luke Shaw seemingly struggling with injury. Chris Smalling should be fit, and his playing partner is anyone’s guess. I’ll go for Eric Bailly.

Nemanja Matic will play, as will Ander Herrera. I expect Mourinho to pack the midfield, so don’t be surprised to see Marouane Fellaini get the nod, particularly given Paul Pogba’s poor run of form.

As for the front three, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard are shoe-ins to start due to their pace, work ethic and movement. I also reckon Romelu Lukaku will start, with the Belgian to lead the line.
