Manchester United Football Club earned a 1-1 draw in Russia last night, and now attentions swiftly turn to the FA Cup last sixteen game against Chelsea. Jose Mourinho will return to Stamford Bridge, and he’ll no doubt be looking to avenge our 4-0 league loss we suffered there before the turn of the year.
This game will certainly not be easy, and we’ve decided to take a look at our likely starting eleven. It looks as though we came through our aforementioned match against Rostov unscathed, but I still expect a few changes to be made.
In goal, David de Gea will obviously return and Jose will ring the changes in defence, too. Luke Shaw should come back into the mix after a real positive display against AFC Bournemouth, Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia should both come back into the mix. Marcos Rojo makes up the back four.
I expect the self-proclaimed Special One to pack the midfield and try to play on the counter. Michael Carrick will likely start in the holding midfielder role, allowing more freedom to both Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba.
As we all know, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is banned so I think Marcus Rashford’s pace could be a real asset. Juan Mata should get a start on his old stomping ground, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan retaining his place after a goal in the week.
