4-3-3: Man Utd XI vs Chelsea – Herrera back in, Mata dropped

Manchester United played Stoke City off the park on Tuesday night, with Louis van Gaal’s side clearly showing faith in their Dutch manager. Tougher tasks certainly await however, with a trip to Chelsea, who are unbeaten under Guus Hiddink.

With that in mind, I expect Louis van Gaal to revert to a more defensive 4-3-3 system here, with plenty of pace available to him on the counter. A front three of Wayne Rooney, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial certainly offer that.

Ander Herrera comes back into the side as he is much more of a box-to-box man than Juan Mata is. We should also see Morgan Schneiderlin back in the team, fresh from his rest in midweek. Michael Carrick simply has to continue.

Borthwick-Jackson played extremely well, and he more than deserves to start once again here. Matteo Darmian will play on the right, with Chris Smalling and Daley Blind at the heart of the back four.
