Manchester United secured their passage to the fourth round of the FA Cup, but they don’t have much time to recover both physically and mentally, with a league game against Newcastle United taking place this coming Tuesday night at St. James’ Park.
With the fixtures piling up, I expect to see a few changes made from Louis van Gaal, in order to keep his players fresh. Wayne Rooney will continue to lead the line, with Memphis Depay getting a start on the left-hand side. Anthony Martial will once again start on the right.
Ander Herrera will play in the attacking midfielder role, with the duo of Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick coming into the side. Cameron Borthwick-Jackson gave a good account of himself last time around so he has earned his place in the side. Daley Blind and Chris Smalling will start in the middle, with Matteo Darmian playing on the right.
