4-3-3: Manchester United XI vs Stoke City – Martial as striker

Manchester United head to Stoke City on Boxing Day, inc hat could well be Louis van Gaal’s last game in charge if the result doesn’t go the right way. The Dutchman met the media ahead of the game, and revealed that the players available hasn’t changed from last time out.

Anthony Martial once again found the back of the net and he simply deserves to continue as a striker, for that reason I’ve put Wayne Rooney out on the right, with Memphis Depay on the left. Juan Mata deserves to be dropped.

Ander Herrera should play as the furthest forward midfield, with Marouane Fellaini and Morgan Schneiderlin also in the side due to the absence of Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Phil Jones will partner Chris Smalling at the heart of the defence, with Daley Blind and Ashley Young occupying the full-back slots.
