Manchester United’s attentions turn to the Champions League this coming Tuesday, with Louis van Gaal’s side needing a win to guarantee safe passage through to the Champions League knockout stage. His task hasn’t been made any easier at all, with several injuries hampering the first-team squad.
The 4-3-3 formation will be deployed in this one, with a threatening front three of Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Memphis Depay. Behind them is Marouane Fellaini, who put in a spirited performance against West Ham.
Morgan Schneiderlin picked up an injury, so that means Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger will continue as the holding midfielders.
Ashley Young will come back into the side at left-back, allowing Daley Blind and Chris Smalling to continue as the centre-half. Matteo Darmian will shift back over to a more familiar right-back. David de Gea starts in goal.
